Dreams Really Can Come True!

I am really excited this week – my book was published. Launch day was Monday 24th April and on that day I became an Amazon number one bestselling author in the UK! It proves that dreams can come true if you take action and seek support of friends, family and a coach. Yes I do have two coaches and two mentors who help and support me. As a good coach I like to ‘walk the talk’. I know how difficult it is to achieve great things alone – procrastination is real, fear of failure and success is real, not knowing what to do next is real. So I know what you are going through and I am in a great position to support  you to achieve  your dreams.

We are just about a third of the way through the year – what do you want to have achieved by December 31st? You only have eight months left to achieve it – what are you waiting for?

So what are the important lessons I learnt from this experience?

Well, firstly, I had to say yes to an opportunity even though I didn’t really know whether I would be able to achieve it. It was certainly something I wanted to achieve, but I had no idea whether it was possible for me. So I took a risk and said ‘yes’.

Next, I realized that I couldn’t do it alone. I needed the support of a couple of coaches and mentors. They held me accountable for my actions. They were patient with me, but they expected me to follow through on the actions I said I would take. I asked for help and support from coaches and mentors – they held me accountable, which ensured I took action.

Then I had to ask for more help, this time from family, friends and colleagues.  I never would have been able to become an Amazon number one bestselling author without a lot of people buying my book! So I asked friends, family and colleagues for their help and support.

Finally I had to do the work – write the book (and edit, and edit), make the decisions, do the marketing – all the things that are out of my comfort zone, because as we all know – “Life begins outside your comfort zone”.
Yes, it was uncomfortable at times. Yes, sometimes I wanted to not bother because it was easier and safer and more comfortable to not take the risks. But I kept my goal front of mind and kept going. I believed it was possible for me.

Am I glad I did?
You bet!
Achieving a goal is a wonderful thing – especially when it means I get to celebrate with champagne!
